The South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) are statewide assessments in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science. SC READY is administered to students in grades 3-8 as required by the Education Accountability Act (EAA). Students will participate in testing on the following dates.

Middle School Curriculum Nights are coming up! Please make plans to attend the curriculum night for the middle school your child will attend. Parents, If you have second through fifth grade students who have a talent in the arts, please nominate them for the A.R.M.E.S. Program. The ARMES Program (Arts Reaching Middle and Elementary Schools) is a tuition-free, rigorous, artistically gifted and talented program designed to meet the needs of identified 3rd - 8th grade Greenville County students. Students can apply for multiple programs including Music, Strings, Visual Art, Creative Writing, Theatre, and Dance. Nomination forms are due March 28, 2024. If a student applies to multiple programs and is accepted they must select one program to participate in. Students wishing to apply to multiple programs must complete a separate nomination form for each program.
Rising 3rd through 8th grade students may be nominated by a teacher, parent, adult, or self. All interested students must have an on-line nomination form completed by the deadline of March 28, 2024 Late nominations cannot be accepted. Required auditions for the ARMES program will be held April 22-May3, 2024. If someone other than the student or parent nominates a student please be sure the student and parent are aware.
Students who are selected into the program attend class after school 2-3 times a week. Students must provide their own transportation. Participation in ARMES is part of the district's Gifted & Talented program so regular attendance is required.

In light of recent events at athletic venues across the country, Greenville County Schools has updated its safety requirements for athletic events, effective immediately. As a reminder, there is a clear bag policy for GCS events. Thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Painting Mount Mitchell is a fun way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion for your student at Mitchell Road Elementary. For $10.00, you can reserve the rock from 3pm on the day prior to when you sign up, until 3pm the day of.
*Reservations and payment are required - PLEASE double check the date you selected at check out.
*Dates are available on a first come, first served basis and rain or shine. No businesses, please
*Please bring your own paint and materials as we will not provide this for you.
*You may paint the rock starting at 3pm the day before your reservation, so it will be ready for the morning carpool line of your reserved date. For example, if your child's birthday is April 15th, reserve April 15th. You may begin painting the rock on April 14th at 3pm in order for it to be ready for morning carpool on the reserved date.
*The PTA has the authority to remove/repaint any language or image that is deemed inappropriate. Please do not paint the ground or any of the area around the rock. An adult MUST be present when painting the rock.
*There are NO refunds. The school spirit rock is a PTA fundraiser. Funds are used to help pay for school programs and/or initiatives.
