There Will be a mandatory interest meeting on October 02 for all boys who are trying out for the boys soccer program this upcoming season. This is for all returning and new players to receive the updated information needed for tryouts. The meeting will be in the MHS auditorium at 4 PM sharp, ending at 4:45 PM. This will be the only meeting before tryouts.
Juniors will be able to place class ring orders during all lunches on Wednesday, September 26. A $60 down payment is required.
Students interested in trying out for Basketball Cheer must attend the mandatory meeting with a parent on Mon. 9/24 at 6:00 pm in the Media Center.
The Hispanic Alliance will be having a Lunch and Learn event to talk about career readiness, scholarships, steps to take for college, and more this Friday, September 21st from 11:30-12:30. The event is open to anyone interested and free lunch will be provided! See Mrs. Robbins, Mrs. Medlin, or the school counseling office to sign up.
All girls interested in trying out for basketball are invited to preseason workouts on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. All participants must have a current physical.
There will be a Hosa meeting on Thursday, September 20th at 8 am in Mrs. Collins' room. All members should be enrolled in the Hosa Google Classroom and pay their $25 dues by this time. Members may pay their Hosa dues on MySchoolBucks.com or bring a check or cash to the September 20th meeting.

Open House and Senior Parent Night will be September 25. Open House - meet the teacher and "mini" parent conferences begin at 6:00 pm with a parent meeting in the auditorium. Senior Parent Night meeting will begin at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Parent/Teacher "mini" conferences will also begin at 6:30 and end at 8:00 pm.

To enter the parking lottery, students MUST have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and MUST have a clean discipline record (no more than two (2) minor referrals and zero (0) major referrals).
If the conditions above are met, in order to purchase a parking permit students must:
-Print out and complete the 2018-2019 parking application provided below.
-Provide a copy of a valid South Carolina driver's license, current insurance, and current registration (these copies MUST be attached to the parking application).
-Have completed a student driver program with a company certified by the SCDMV.
-Have paid all outstanding debts as well as your 2018-2019 class and technology dues. If you paid these fees by cash or check, please bring your receipt with you.
-Pay the $60.00 parking fee (Due upon notification of spot received in lottery process. DO NOT attempt to pay for your pass until you receive your pass).

The Greenville County College Fair, a two-day event featuring close to 100 different colleges and universities, is scheduled for Thursday, October 18th and Friday, October 19th at the TD Convention Center. The Fair provides students and parents with the opportunity to meet college admissions representatives, as well as learn more about college majors, the application/admissions process, and financial aid. Students and their parents are welcome to attend Thursday evening. In addition, Mauldin High has been invited to visit the Fair on Friday morning with interested students. The first 80 Juniors and/or Seniors who sign-up and return their Permission Form in the School Counseling Office, will be registered to attend. Beginning with the opening of the 2018-19 athletic season, Greenville County Schools is instituting a clear bag policy for all athletic venues. This means spectators are prohibited from entering athletic venues with camera cases, briefcases, backpacks, cinch bags, large purses, and similar items. Approved bags include clear, gallon-sized zip storage bags, clear totes (12"x6"x12") and small purses. Folding chairs and blankets will be allowed, but are subject to search. A list of frequently asked questions is provided on the GCS website.
