Law Enforcement Instructor
Joe Cuyar has 24 years experience in law enforcement and 28 years experience in the US Army and the Army National Guard. Joe also served 13 months in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Most of his law enforcement career was spent in the patrol divisions. For 8 years he worked with the Northrop-Grumman Corporation as a Military Trainer training military personnel in various locations throughout the world.
Joe has between married for 36 years and has two sons, a daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.
Culinary Arts Instructor
Elijah Edwards comes to GSCC with ten years of culinary experience in the restaurant and catering industry. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of Charleston he trained under acclaimed Chef Bob Carter throughout the low country with involvement in fine dining, catering and private events. Elijah served as a teacher assistant for two years and an adjunct Culinary Arts instructor at Greenville Technical College before joining the GSCC staff.
Elijah is from the upstate.
Michelle Michael is the new Assistant Director at Golden Strip Career Center. Michelle has been with the district for 9 years working as a teacher at Berea High School and Enoree Career Center and most recently served three years as Travelers Rest High School Assistant Principal . She is a graduate of Clemson University and Arkansas State University.
Michelle currently lives in Easley with her husband, Zach, and two dogs, Sadie and Sophie.
