Greenville County Schools Foundation Mission

Mission Statement: The Foundation’s primary mission is to support our students by providing educational scholarships, to encourage students to join the teaching profession, and to support our teaching and non-teaching staff by providing  funding  for advanced degrees, additional certifications, and professional development.

Contributions to the foundation will be used to provide grants to schools and teachers for innovative programs, to provide staff development both district wide and for individual teachers, teacher scholarships for teachers to further their education and certification, to provide more student scholarships and to communicate successes to the community using various media outlets.

History of GCSF

The development of the GCS Foundation was approved by the Board of Trustees in February 2009, and the Foundation received its nonprofit status in August 2010.

The Foundation’s mission is to serve in a support capacity for the School District in providing educational services for schools administered by the superintendent. The Foundation will help provide students and employees with programs, support, and services that are above and beyond that which is provided by the education funding system.
