Eastside High School Frequently Asked Questions

 General Information

1.    What time does school start? When is the earliest time that a student can arrive and where do they report?

School starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m. The first warning bell rings at 8:35 a.m. Students must wait in the commons area until the warning bell rings. Students should not arrive before 7:45 a.m. as the school remains locked until this time.

2.    Where do I get a student handbook?

Students are given handbooks during the first week of school by their homeroom teacher. Ask you student to see it! There is also a link on the school website where you can view the handbook.

3.    Where can I find forms my student may need for school and extracurricular activites?

Links to many of the required school forms can be found here. All other forms can be acquired by contacting appropiate parties directly.

4.    Can freshmen join clubs?

Yes, there are many different clubs available to all students. A current list of student organizations can be found here.

5.    Where can I find the school website?

6.    Do we have a police officer assigned to our school?

Yes, EHS has one resource officer.

7.    What are the PE uniform specifications?

Uniforms are purchased from the PE instructor and cost $20 (subject to change). The P.E. uniform consists of a white t-shirt and black mesh shorts. P.E. instructors will let the students know when it is time to begin “dressing out.” Lockers and locks are provided by the school.

8.    How does my student know what his/her lunch schedule is?

Your student will find out the first day of school. Lunches are determined by your student’s 4th period teacher assignment. EHS has three lunches, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in that order. First lunch goes to lunch and then class. Second lunch has class, lunch and then the rest of class. Third lunch has class and then lunch at the end. Times are online with the bell schedule. Visitors may not come to school to have lunch with students. No fast food may be delivered or brought to school for students.

9.    Does Eastside have an online newsletter?

Yes, it is sent out monthly via email. We call it Eagle Watch Newsletter. To subscribe to the newsletter here, click "PTSA Newsletter" under, "Resources".  How often do we get a printed school newsletter? Usually 4 times a year. Does it come home with students? No, Your PTSA bulk mails the newsletter to all students’ homes.
