Where Enlightening Strikes First!

 Golden Strip's Super Staff!

Welcome to the Greenville County Child Development Centers “Where Enlightening Strikes First”!

February always makes me think of relationships and here at the Child Development Center’s we work diligently to help our children develop the skills necessary to create healthy relationships.  Along with that, we also work to develop caring and productive relationships with them, you, and outside organizations.  This month I would like to showcase three of the community relationships that we have and the positive impact they have for you and your child.

 Greenville First Steps

Greenville First Steps is a non-profit organization that supports early childhood programs to improve school readiness for Greenville Country children.  Greenville First Steps brings us the Palmetto Basics that we have been discussing all year with you, provides free books to our teachers and students, as well as provides the funding for each of our six centers to have the South Carolina Children’s Theatre perform for all our children this spring.

The Children’s Museum of the Upstate

This year the Greenville Children’s Museum, located on College Street in downtown Greenville, has partnered with us to provide free admission to all 4-year olds at the Child Development Centers in Greenville County.  From January to May, we will be coordinating trips from each of our centers to introduce our children to this wonderful resource right here in their city.  We will continue to share special events happening at the museum that could be beneficial to you and your child/ren.

Julie Valentine Center

The Julie Valentine Center is a non-profit organization in Greenville County whose mission is to stop sexual violence and child abuse and the impact these crimes have through prevention, investigation, collaboration, treatment and advocacy.  The Julie Valentine Center will be our guest speaker at our next Principal Coffees being scheduled for March and April of this year so please be on the look-out for your center’s date coming out soon.

We are VERY thankful for the relationships that we have been able to develop and look forward to continue to develop more and deepen the ones that we have to better our programming for you and your child/ren.

As always, if you have and questions, concerns or ideas for us, feel free to contact me.
