Laying the Foundation for Future Success!
Give Me Five: Please complete a short survey that is meant to measure the effectiveness of Greenville County Schools in communicating with external audiences such as parents, community members, and business partners.
I can’t believe it is March already! We are having so much fun with your children while watching them learn and develop into happy, healthy people ready for that next step.
This month I will be highlighting Palmetto Basic #5: Read and Discuss Stories. This is one of my favorite Basics, and also I believe one of the easiest to implement. I am sure you see our children in the CDCs reading and discussing stories all the time at school as this is a building block for academic success in the future by developing strong literacy foundations. The more we read with young children, the more prepared they become to enjoy reading and do well in school. If you are looking for some ideas, the Greenville County Public Libraries are great places to visit to inspire reading with your child and gain access to many free and interesting books.
Once again we are excited to announce that we have scheduled our Spring Coffees, one at each of our Child Development Centers, to be able to open our doors to you, hear from the Julie Valentine Center and spend some time answering any questions you may have for us. At 8am on the following days, the Assistant Principal at your center and I will be hosting a Coffee at the designated location. We look forward to meeting with those of you that are available to join us at that time as well as share some coffee and treats. (Spanish Interpreter will be provided)
