The ACE Awards (Advocates for Character and Education) was created by Greg Blatt, Founder and Executive Director of Coaches 4 Character. It is an annual award given to 72 male and female students from each of the 35 Greenville County middle and high schools. This award is designed to honor true “unsung heroes” who all too often are not recognized for their accomplishments. The selection process, established by Greenville County school counselors, focuses on identifying and selecting students who often go unnoticed for one reason or another, but have accomplished great things in their community, church or school.
If you would like to nominate an 8th or 12th grader, complete and submit a nomination form (available in the School Counseling office) or go on-line to the ACE Awards tab of the Coaches for Character Website to submit. Nominations open Monday, October 14, 2019 and must be submitted by January 31, 2020. An ACE Awards Advisory Committee at each school will choose finalists from among those nominated to complete an application for the ACE Award. One male and one female will be chosen from each middle and high school in Greenville County. All ACE award recipients will be recognized at the ACE Awards ceremony in the spring.

There are two new traffic signs on the campus. Traffic exiting the main parking lot should not turn left onto East Tyger Bridge Road during the time of 3:15-3:45 p.m. Traffic exiting the lower 8th grade lot onto East Tyger Bridge Road should not turn right during the time of 3:15-3:45 p.m. As a reminder, parents should not turn left from South Blue Ridge Drive into the 8th grade parking lot until after 3:30 p.m. On the front of the school, you will also notice several signs stating that students should not be dropped off before 7:30 a.m. and should be picked up by 4:00 p.m. This is not a new expectation, but signs were put up last week. All of these expectations will be enforced the week after Thanksgiving. Please get in the habit of following them as soon as possible.
