2017 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas

2017 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas

Saturday, December 16th marks the end of the 2017 football season in South Carolina with the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas being played at Wofford College.  The Shrine Bowl matches the best high school seniors in South Carolina vs the best in North Carolina.  This year four GCS athletes earned a selection to the Sandlappers team of South Carolina:

Adam Henderson - DL - Berea - Henderson, 6'3" 267, will play along the defensive line, a position he occupied for the Bulldogs the last four years.  He will wear #81 for the Shrine Bowl.

Bradly Thompson - OL - Greer - Thompson follows a distinguished group of Greer linemen who have earned their way to all-star recognition.  The 6'4" 295 tackle anchored an explosive Yellow Jacket offense.  Thompson will wear #72 in the Shrine Bowl.

Quavian White - DB - Greer - During the regular season, Qua White did a little bit of everything for the Yellow Jackets.  White scored touchdowns as a wide receiver, a running back and on special teams, where he served a kick and punt returner for Greer.  White is also an all-state defensive back and that's where he'll line up on Saturday wearing #4 for the Sandlappers.

Ty Hellams - WR - Greenville - Hellams was a late addition to team SC, but after a 1000 yard season where he led the Red Raiders in touchdowns receiving Hellams no doubt earned his spot at wide receiver.
