2017 XC Eye Opener

In an event featuring over 2800 runners, the Riverside Girls Cross Country team maintained their dominance by winning their 3rd straight Eye Opener title in the International Division. Jessie Crowley (2), Katherine Rogers (4), Elizabeth Rogers (5), Carter Marchbanks (7) and Laura Macgregor (11) all placed within the top 15 as Riverside amassed 19 points. Second place finished with 130. Mauldin (5th), Eastside (6th) and JL Mann (8th) all finished with top 10 team showings. Mauldin's top finishers were Macey Morgan (14) and Ellie Wood (18). Eastside's Madison Ellis finished 10th and Olivia Henn 13th.
In the International Boys Division, Riverside edged out Hillgrove 90-115 to claim their 2nd straight title. Andrew Castano (7) and Harper Harris (8) were the top finishers for the Warriors. Eastside's Noah White placed 3rd overall as the Eagles team also placed 3rd overall. Greer (8) and Mauldin (9) also finished top ten in their division. Coen Roberst from Greer placed 4th overall.
In the Boys Championship Division, Hillcrest's Lucas Conti placed 2nd overall and the Rams finished 3rd as a team. Austin Lane of Blue Ridge also finished top 10, placing 9th overall. Taylor Houston from Greer placed 9th overall in the Girls Championship Division.
In the JV race, Jessica Perry of Riverside took 1st place as Riverside took 14 of the top 20 places and won the JV Girls team event. JL Mann placed 2nd and Greenville 9th. Eastside finished 2nd in the JV Boys race and Riverside (3rd), Greer (4th) and Hillcrest (5th) all placed top 10.
