Parent eLearning Information
Backpack for Parents
eLearning Begins Wednesday, March 18
Students without access to the internet may call the teacher work phone during the teacher’s regular class schedule.
Teachers have their regular class schedule and contact information, including email address and classroom phone number, posted on the front page of their website.
Students will need to complete all assignments. If the student does not have internet access, all work will be due within five days of returning to school.
Google Classroom is a streamlined, easy-to-use tool that helps teachers manage coursework. With Classroom, educators can create classes, distribute assignments, grade and send feedback, and see everything in one place.
For students in grades 3-8, lesson materials will be posted to Google Classrooms for students to complete.
Students in grades 9-12 will use Google Classroom or Echo. If high school students are unable to access the internet they should contact their school to make arrangements for materials.
Teachers will respond to questions through their Google Classroom or directly to a student through the student email during their regular class schedule.
eLearning With Chromebooks
If students have School District Chromebooks at home with connectivity, they should access their assignments. Please see Google Classroom and the teacher webpages. Students access Google Classroom via Student Backpack. If students need help accessing Google Classroom, please see the following directions.
Teachers are creating most assignments so students can access them on Chromebooks while offline.
ePackets can be downloaded for grades 3-8 for students without access to the internet.
ETV At-Home Learning
Beginning Tuesday, March 24, SCETV will modify regularly scheduled programming for three days each week to offer specific pre-K – 12 resources between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
eLearning without Chromebooks
Students in PreK-2nd grade do not have District-issued Chromebooks. As a result, these students will have downloadable materials available on their teacher’s website.
Student Chromebook Repairs
Student Chromebooks that require repair can be swapped out for another device at one of our four Career Centers during the hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday. We will be stocking each Career Center with 500 spare devices. This will be a drive-through repair center where parents and students do not need to get out of their cars. If the parent cannot get to a Career Center, they should contact the District Help Desk at 355-4357.

Charter Spectrum is providing free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 students and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription at any service level up to 100 Mbps. Call 1-844-488-8395 to enroll; installation fees will be waived for new student households. The program applies only in an existing Charter service area. Households should be clear on the terms of service before entering into an agreement with the provider (Spectrum) to be aware of the point at which charges will be assessed. At this time, Spectrum is stating that regular rates will apply after the initial 60 days. This program is in addition to an existing low-cost Internet program offered by Spectrum.
