Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in the Shining Stars Teacher Recruitment Event with Greenville County Schools. Registration will close for this event on February 28, 2018.
What do I need to bring to the event?
You will want to bring multiple copies of your resume to distribute to schools in which you have an interest. You may want to bring a sweater or jacket as the facility may be cool. Also, the facility is large and the schools are located in an exhibit hall so you may want to wear comfortable shoes. If you have preregistered for the event, you will receive a confirmation email indicating your registration has been received. You will not need to bring a copy of that registration confirmation with you.
What should I wear to the event?
Professional attire is encouraged as you will be meeting and greeting our school principals. A good first impression will be important.
Where should I park for the event?
The event is being held in the Woodside Conference Center at the TD Convention Center. It is most easily accessed from the entrance on Eisenhower Drive. Parking is available both adjacent to the building and across the street.
What if I cannot attend or accept a teaching position prior to the event and I have already registered?
Please advise Human Resources at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unable to attend. Your timely notification would be appreciated in order to help us adequately prepare for the event.
How will I know if I will be interviewed at the event?
Interviews are only being scheduled for applicants who have not previously been interviewed by a member of the Human Resources staff. If you indicated ‘yes’ on the registration question which asked if you have been recently interviewed by a member of HR, you will attend the event for the purpose of networking with principals of schools in which you have interest.
If I am being interviewed at the event, will I be able to select the person with whom I wish to interview?
Due to the volume of candidates, we are unable to honor requests for specific interviewers. Our goal is to provide each candidate, who has not been interviewed at the district level in the last three months, with one interview conducted by a member of our district staff.
If I am being interviewed at the event, when will I receive my interview time for the event?
Interview schedules are included in participant packets which are picked up the day of the event at the TD Convention Center. Candidates should arrive no later than 8:45 to pick up their registration packet prior the 9:00 General Session.
Will there be refreshments provided at the event?
A light snack and a bottle of water will be included in the candidate bags provided the morning of the event.
