"Mr. Wade Hampton Winners!"
Congratulations to the Mr. Wade Hampton Winners: Freshman 1st Runner Up - Matt Nocella, Winner - Matt Childress, Sophomore 1st Runner Up - Chris Martin, Winner - Logan George, Junior 1st Runner Up - Nick Mauney, Winner - Drake Scott, Senior 1st Runner Up - Greg Coggins, Mr. Senior - James Allen, and Mr. Wade Hampton - Matt Stodghill.

"Athletic Signingsl"
Congratulations to the following WHHS athletes who signed with the following colleges: Greg Collins - The Citadel, cross country track, Garfield Dandridge - North Carolina Tech, football, Matthew Flynn - USC Upstate, soccer, Noelle Morgano - Carson Newman, soccer.

"Palmetto Dramatic Association/SC Thespian Festival"
The Palmetto Dramatic Association/SC Thespian festival was held February 18-20 at the USC-Aiken campus. Members of the WHHS Theatre Brigade earned the following awards: The cast and crew of Meeting Sam by Alan Haehnel received an EXCELLENT in Play Performance; Vince Levetro and Ali Poole received an EXCELLENT in Acting, as well as Best Comic Duo. Leah Meahl received a SUPERIOR in Acting; Mimi Miller received two SUPERIOR ratings; Maria Franz received two SUPERIOR ratings. Mimi and Maria are now eligible to compete at the International Thespian society's International festival in June.

"Miss Trevilian Winners"
Congratulations to the winners of the Miss Trevilian Pageant. Freshman Attendant: Katie Bennett, Miss Freshman: Stormie MacDonald. Sophomore Attendant: Tori Skelton, Miss Sophomore: Breana Intlekofer, Junior Attendant: Jacey Grover, Miss Junior: Shelly Rowan, Miss Photogenic: Holly Hill, Miss Congeniality: Rocky Foster, Senior Attendant: Samantha Nance, Miss Senior: Lindsay Strossner, and Miss Trevilian 2011: Kristina Bryant.

"WHHS students named All County & All State Football"
Congratulations to these WHHS students who were named All State in Football: Hakeem Flowers and JB Norris. The following students were named All County in Football: Hakeem Flowers, Blake Hayes, JB Norris, McKenzie Battle, Brandon Wood, Capers Wiliamson, and Nick Grove.


"NHS named a 2010 Outstanding Service Project Award Winner"
The Wade Hampton National Honor Society has been selected as one of the 2010 outstanding Service Project Award winners for their Can the Principal Food Drive. This is a national recognition. Congratulations to the Wade Hampton NHS for this award!

"Merit Scholarship Winners "
Two WHHS seniors have been awarded college-sponsored Merit Scholarships: Sarah Turner through the University of South Carolina, and Ashley McCullough through Wofford College. Congratulations to Sarah and Ashley!

"WHHS Winners at Upstate Hight School Art Exhibition "
Congratulations to Jennifer Pham and Adrienne Anderson for winning 1st and 2nd place in Digital Imagery at the Annual Upstate High School Art Exhibition at Greenville Tech

"State Wrestling Tournament Winner"
WHHS Junior, James Allen, brought home a bronze medal from the AAA State Wrestling Tournament. He ended the season with 40 wins and only three defeats. Congratulations James!

"Bridges to a Brighter Future Program"
Three WHHS students were selected to Furman's Bridges to a Brighter Future Program: Larenda Terry, Nadia Glover,and Terrence Sudberry. Congratulations to these students!

"Student Council named #1 3A in State"
Congratulations to the WHHS Student Council for winning the Gold Honor Council, Outstanding School Pride Project, the Gold Gavel Award, and being named the number one 3A student council in the state.

"Wade Hampton Singers receive Superior rating at Festival"
Congratulations to our Wade Hampton Singers Treble Ensemble for receiving a Superior rating at the State Choral Festival on Thursday, March 25 in Columbia.

"Jake Webb selected for Congress Bundestag Scholarship"
Jake Webb, a student in Mr. Baker's German 3 Honors class, was selected for the Congress Bundestag Scholarship, an all expenses paid year of study in Germany funded by the U.S. Congress and the U.S. State Department. He is one of only 250 students selected nationally. Congratulations to Jake for this award.

"Letters about Literature Contest"
Katherine Howell has won the 2nd place high school award in the Library of Congress Letters about Literature Contest. She was chosen from over 1,000 entries from South Carolina students, and been invited to a ceremony in Columbia on May 7th. She will read her letter about Margaret Mitchell's classic novel, "Gone with the Wind" at the ceremony. Howell won a $50 check from the S.C. State Library Foundation and will have her letter published.

"Lexi Aime wins Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition "
Alexis (Lexi) Aime has won the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition in the High School Division. She will be performing with college and professional opera singers on January 24 at Carnegie Hall. Congratulations Lexi!

"Notre Dame offer for WHHS Football Player "
Hakeem Flowers, an ESPN top 150 Watch List Recruit, has received over thirty football scholarship offers. On National Signing day, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly offered Flowers a scholarship. In addition to Notre Dame, Flowers is evaluating offers from LSU, Tennessee, Miami, West Virginia, and Michigan.

"National Merit Semifinalists Named"
Congratulations to WHHS students Evelyn Maris, Ashley McCullough, and Sarah Turner for being named National Merit Semifinalists!

"WHHS ranked one of the best for 5th year!"
WHHS has been ranked by Newsweek Magazine as one of the best high schools in the U.S. for the 5th consecutive yera! WHHS is in the top 4% of high schools in the nation again this year, making the list of newsweek's Best High Schools for 2009. Wade Hampton ranks #718 out of 17,765 high schools in the U.S.

"Wade Hampton Grad wins 2009 US Open Championship"
Congratulations to Lucas Glover, 2009 US Open Champion and 1997 graduate of Wade Hampton High School!

"Youth In Government Conference"
Eighteen Wade Hampton students went to Columbia, South Carolina, from December 3 through December 6 to run our State Legislature.  These students participated in Youth In Government, a statewide mock General Assembly.  Student legislators write and debate bills, attorneys try and appeal cases, reporters publish a newspaper and create a conference newscast. "Cross Country State Win"
The men's and women's cross country teams ended another successful season at the State Championships on Saturday Nov. 8th at Clemson Sandhills Research Center in Columbia.  The men's team finished 1st, this is their 6th state championship in the past 10 years.  This marks the 18th consecutive top 5 finish for the men's team and the 20th top 10 finish. "Drill Team awarded at Tiger Drill Meet "
The Wade Hampton AFJROTC Drill Team won three trophies at the Tiger Drill Meet conducted at Clemson University on Saturday. Thecompeted against 12 high schools from NC, SC, and Georgia. The team won first place in "Individual Drill", second place in "Team Inspection", and second place in "Unarmed Element". Cadet Colonel Amanda Harper was the commander for the inspection and element events. Cadet Second Lieutenants Daniel Lee and Gregory Little were the two individual drill winners. We are very proud of this outstanding performance so early in the year.

"National Merit "
Congratulations to Emily Champion, Katherine Clarke and Kevin Tompkins for making it to the National Merit Semi-Finalist level in the National Merit competition.  They all have the possibility of becoming National Merit Finalist.  Good luck in the testing competition. 
"Castrejon finalist in Hispanic Recognition Program "
Congratulations to Cristina Castrejon for making it to the National Hispanic Recognition Program Finalist.
