Run - A - Thon Relay Fundraiser
The WHHS Cross Country Team is hosting their 3rd annual 24 hour Run-A-Thon relay fundraiser from 5:00pm Friday, May 25 until 5:00pm Saturday, May 26 to raise money for the team and team camp. Team members hope to run 160 plus miles in the 24 hour period. If you would like to pledge or make a donation, see a member of the team or Coach Zeller. Checks should be made out to Wade Hampton High School (put Cross Country fund raiser in the left hand corner).

Hannah Peeples gets to shine for Governor Nikki Haley
Wade Hampton and Fine Arts Center student, Hannah Peeples, sang the National Anthem for attendees at a recent Rotary Club of Greenville meeting. Governor Nikki Haley was the guest speaker, and Hannah sang the National Anthem in her honor.

Senior Survey
Attention Seniors: You must complete the district’s senior survey before graduation. Please follow the link, which will take you to the online survey. It is a simple 5 minute anonymous survey that asks about your plans after graduation. Click here to take survey.

Summer School 2012
Information regarding Summer School 2012 is available through your grade level guidance counselor. Summer School will be held at Woodmont, Eastside, Hillcrest, and Blue Ridge. Registration will occur on June 11th, 12th, and 13th from 1:00-6:00 pm at MT Anderson. Please see your counselor for more details.

2012 NASC National Gold Council of Excellence
Congratulations to Mrs. Brooks, and the WHHS Student Council for being recognized as a 2012 NASC National Gold Council of Excellence. WHHS is one of only 163 high school councils nationwide to receive the honor for its record of leadership, service, and activites that serve to improve the school and community.

Elected Teacher and Elected Speaker for Graduation
Congratulations to Abby Cook for being selected as this year's Elected Teacher by the Senior Class. Miss Cook was selected to sit with the dignitaries during graduation, and will greet the seniors after they receive their diplomas. Keith Jones was chosen as Elected Speaker for this year's graduation. He will give a speech on behalf of the Senior Class.

Basketball News
Brian Steele was named to 1st team All County, and Ish Cousar was named 3rd team All Greenville County for boys basketball, 2011-2012. Brian and Ish were also named All Region for basketball. Brian Steele was selected to play in the Carolinas All Star Basketball Classic at Socastee HS on March 17. Brian Steele and Ish Cousar have been selected to play in the FCA All Star Basketball game at Byrnes HS on March 10.Jay Anderson and Shun Fulton have been selected to play in the Palmetto Athletic Association All Star Basketball game on March 9th at Hillcrest HS. Congratulations to these students!

Media Center Hours
The Media Center will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons until 5:00pm.

April Honorees of the Month
The April Honorees of the month are: Teacher/Staff of the Month - Vicki Wilson, Student of the Month - Jackie Armstrong; Volunteer of the Month - Margaret Caterisano, and Business Partner of the Month - O'Neal Engineering. Congratulations to these winners!

After School Tutoring
After School Tutoring is now available at WHHS. Tutoring is free to all students. Tutoring sessions are available for all courses (and levels). Bus transportation home is provided. Click HERE for more information.

Alive at 25
Alive at 25 is a survival course developed by the National Safety Council. It is designed to prevent the #1 killer of teens, automobile crashes. SC Alive is taught by off-duty Deputy Sheriffs, Municipal Police Officers and SC Highway Patrol Officers. The course is delivered in one 4.5 hour program which focuses on the behaviors, decision-making and risks facing young drivers every time they get behind the wheel. Click HERE for more information.

Free access to ACT, PSAT,SAT, AP Exam Reviews
The Office of eLearning in the Division of School of Effectiveness is pleased to offer free access to ACT, PSAT,SAT, and AP Exam Reviews for any South Carolina student who wishes to prepare for one or more of these exams during the 2011 - 2012 school year. Click HERE for more information.

Credit Recovery Classes offered at WHHS
Credit Recovery classes will be offered at WHHS beginning September 12. Credit Recovery is available for most of the core academic subjects.Students must complete an application to register.Click HERE for more information.
