Students

New AP Computer Science Students
If you are signed up for Mr. Rogers AP Computer Science class next year please do the following:

1. Attend the Computer Science Orientation after school from (times to be announced) in room 227. Previous computer science students will be on hand to help get you started. If you cannot attend please notify Mr. Rogers to set up a make up session.

2. Send Mr. Rogers an e-mail with your e-mail address and phone number. List AP Comp Sci as the subject of the e-mail. Mr. Rogers will use this to set up a mailing list so that he can assist you in getting started on Java programming over the summer.

3. Visit Mr. Rogers web site at http://www.intuitor.com/student/AP_CompSci_I_Syl.htm. Do the summer assignment listed there including familiarizing yourself with the vocabulary.

4. Visit Hex Headquarters at http://www.intuitor.com/hex/ and read about hexadecimal.

5. Purchase and begin reading Barron's Ap Computer Science Study Guide - How to Prepare for the AP Computer Science Exam by Roselyn Teukolsky. These can be purchased through area book stores or Amazon.com. This book has proven to be invaluable to past AP Computer Science Students.





New AP Statistics Students
If you are signed up for AP Statistics class next year please do the following:

1. Visit Amazing Applications of Probability and Statistics at http://www.intuitor.com/statistics/ and read the articles.
2. Purchase and begin reading Barron's How to Prepare for the Ap Statistics : Advanced Placement Test in Statistics by Martin Sternstein. It is available from Amazon.com (follow the link) or through local book stores such as The Open Book or Barnes and Noble. Previous AP Statistcs students have found this book to be highly valuable.




New AP Physics Students
If you are signed up for Mr. Rogers AP Physics class next year please do the following:

1. Take the Physics Savvy Test at http://www.intuitor.com/physics_test/

2. Visit Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics at http://www.intuitor.com/moviephysics/ and read the articles.

3. Send Mr. Rogers an e-mail with your e-mail address and phone number. List AP Physics as the subject of the e-mail. Mr. Rogers will use this to set up a mailing list so that he can assist you in getting started on physics over the summer.
4. Purchase and begin reading Cracking the Ap : Physics Exam 2000-2001 by Steven A. Leduc, Princeton Review (Editor) $15.20. It's available from Amazon.com (follow the link) or through local book stores such as The Open Book or Barnes and Noble. Previous AP Physics students have found this book to be highly valuable.
