Mr. Rogers' Classroom Info
Southside High, Greenville SC

I teach AP Physics C I & II, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science I & II, and IB Design Technology, a class focused on the innovation process.

To access my classroom information including my schedule, class syllabi, lesson plans, practice tests etc., click the syllabi link in the orange margin to the left.

I've been on the web since April of 1996 and so, my site includes several hundred pages of information on all sorts of topics as listed in my links page. Generally, if you input my last name and any of the subjects I teach I will come up as number one in Google

My most popular feature is called Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics. In it I review Hollywood movies for physics content. This page has been written about in numerous publications including Physics Today, the New York Times, and the Hollywood Reporter as well as the Greenville News. It has been featured on National Public Radio (NPR)and the Osgood Files on CBS radio.

My site also includes a section on the physics of resonance and a section called Amazing Applications of Probability and Statistics. Parts of both sections were supported by a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Teachers grant as part of Clemson University's Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Wireless Communications.

In addition to teaching, I sponsor the SAM InvenTeam (Southside Automated Machines)--an extra curricular organization devoted to innovation and originally formed with a grand from Lemelson-MIT. The team's first project was to invent and build a stair climbing robot for firefighters. With help from Ms. Shoun, I also sponsor the science fair activities at Southside, which have produced a regular supply of both regional and international science fair award winners. Finally, I work with the Clemson Electrical and Computer Engineering Department performing K-12 outreach.
