Students

Southside students,
Welcome to the Health Room Student Page. I encourage you to check the News section for valuable information through out the summer. I enjoyed meeting many of you this past year. I look forward to meeting many more of you, even if it’s just to stick your head in the office to say Hi.

In this Health Room, I have a very strong belief in confidentiality. To barrow a phrase “What happens here stays here.”

Here are a few rules regarding the Health Room.
 We do NOT provide any medication of any kind. You must bring a small bottle of the medication (non-aspirin) and the permission slip from home.
 You must first report to your class and get a pass to the Health Room to be seen by the nurse.
 You will only be allowed to rest for 15 minutes before returning to class.
 If you do not meet criteria for dismissal and you still opt to go home it will be unexcused.
 Approval from an adult must be obtained before you can be dismissed.
 The Health Room closes at 200 PM everyday. I will be here for emergencies, if needed. This time is used for conferences, paperwork, phone calls and other matters that can not be done during the day.
 Elevator keys are available with a $10.00 deposit. The key must be returned to the Health Room at the end of each day, IT CAN NOT GO HOME WITH YOU.
 Any medication that requires a prescription must have a Doctors order as well as the parent permit.
 Phone calls are limited to Health Room matters. Any other phone calls made from the Health Room must have the Nurse’s permission and a .50 charge per call. (No IOUs on this.)
 The restroom in the Health Room is NOT a public rest room. The door does not lock. Please be considerate and knock before entering. Using the Health Room rest room is at your own risk.

I look forward to meeting many of you, and seeing some of you in the next school year. Please e-mail me any time if you have questions, concerns, or want to share some news with me. I will be checking my e-mail daily.
