Dear Parents/Guardians,

It gives us great pleasure to welcome your young adult back to school and to Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC). The mission of AFJROTC is to build better and more productive citizens for America. The goals of the program are to instill the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment in high school students. We prepare our students to be productive and successful adults no matter what they plan to accomplish after graduation.

Each year all cadets are issued uniforms, jackets, shoes and name tags. The uniform is federal property and must be returned in serviceable condition. A uniform maintenance cost of $30.00 is assessed to help offset the cost for altering the uniform to fit, cleaning the uniform at the end of the year, issuing shoes and name tags and for the physical training (PT) uniform (t-shirt, shorts, sweatshirt and sweatpants). Uniforms will not be issued until this maintenance fee is paid or arrangements have been made with me. Headquarters Junior ROTC does not cover all of the costs incurred to run and manage our program. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Parents are invited and encouraged to join the AFJROTC Booster Club. You will receive a flyer for your information. Our Booster Club parents support our cadets by attending drill competitions, volunteering to carpool, serve food for our cadets, chaperones for one-day and overnight competitions and field trips. Your support is greatly appreciated.

We will conduct several co-curricular activities including rocket club, Venture Club, visits to military bases, recreation, the military ball, dining-in, other social events and parades.
