Bienvenue sur le site web de Madame Hélène Robinson
Bienvenue sur mon site web. Welcome to my web page. It will feature class news, Tigers of the Month (les Tigres du Mois), class syllabi and more.
This year I am again teaching Theory of Knowledge as well as French 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Our trip to Paris, Provence and Barcelona was fantastic. In Paris, we visited Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Eiffel Tower and Versailles. We then took the TGV (high speed train) to Avignon, where we visited the 14th century Palace of Popes and discovered the surrounding cities of Provence. We saw Roman ruins including the Pont du Gard aqueduct and the arena where gladiators fought in Arles. We saw the fields of sunflowers that inspired Van Gogh and visited Cezanne's house in Aix-en Provence. We took a Mediterranean boat ride in Cassis and explored the medieval walled city of Carcassonne before ending our tour in Barcelona, Spain. The Catalan city of Barcelona is absolutely charming, from the fountains of the national palace to the fanciful architecture of Antonin Gaudi which reaches its pinnacle with the Sagrada Familia cathedral. Barcelona's people, beaches, and street performers attest to the vibrancy of the city. Its museums include a Picasso museum, fine arts from the Middle Ages to the present, and a chocolate museum that has a chocolate replica of the Sagrada Familia and a chocolate tribute to Louis Armstrong!
As always, my personal goal is to make the current year - 2006-2007 - the best year ever for our students.
Please contact me regularly with your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions. Together we can bring out the best at Southside. You can find me in room C-133 in the new building.
