Clemson Declamation Contest

There are many fun opportunities (besides learning German) that await you this year: Clemson Declamation Contest (click on photo above), Karneval mask-making, hall art, and the chance to go to Germany!

Student exchanges are rewarding, unforgettable, fun learning experiences for the students and for me. In 2003 Southside and JL Mann high school German classes teamed up for a student exchange with a high school in Bavaria. Two years later BMW funded $7000 in a generous grant to help 13 students spend three weeks in Straubing, Germany. Check out what is happening for the next exchange on the "New" page!

Extra Credit:
1) Clemson Declamation Contest participation. Get more info by clicking on the student photo above to link to Clemson.
2) Pen Pals. Schreib einen Brief auf Deutsch an deinen Brieffreund in Polen!
3) Seek after-school help from GE tutors at SHS.
4) Bring in interesting, current news info from Germany and make a short presentation.
5) Create a cool, interesting new game for the class (auf Deutsch, natürlich), e.g vocabulary, grammar, culture.
