English Writing Prompts: HSAP Example for Practice

Write a well-organized composition on the topic below. You can use a dictionary and/or a thesaurus. Write a rough draft and a final draft. Only the final draft will be graded. Be sure your composition has a beginning, middle, and end.

Your school committee is planning to greatly increase security at your school. Among their plans include installing metal detectors, requiring photo identification, conducting regular canine patrols, and giving cash rewards to confidential student informants. Write a letter to your local newspaper with your opinion about these plans.
