Student Hours 8:00 am - 2:30 pm Early Dismissals If parents need to take a child from school before the end of the day, they should come to the office, sign a dismissal form, and the teacher/aide will be asked to bring the student to the office. ResourcesMost services for people with disabilities can be found through the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN). Once you contact them, if other services are needed they can direct you to them. The web site for DDSN is www.state.sc.us/ddsn. On their home page go to Service Delivery System. When this opens you will see a drop down box of County Menu. Find Greenville, click go, and this will give you the address and phone number of the local board. You may also wish to visit the website of the State Department of Education, Office of Exceptional Children. This site is www.myscschools.com. When you reach the home page, find Office of Exceptional Children and click on it. The Center for Developmental Services is a local cooperative of agencies that serve people with disabilities. Their web site is www.cdservices.org. The following are web sites that have proven to be very interesting and helpful for parents and teachers.www.do2learn.com provides games, songs, communication cards, and information about students with special needs. It links to many, many other helpful sites, as well. www.enchantedlearning.com is a member site but it offers many activities, crafts, and books, that can be printed out for free. The member cost is very minimal. www.ed.sc.edu/caw/toolbox.html is an excellent site that offers lessons that can be printed, suggestions for accommodations in the way of hardware and software. www.lburkhart.com click on the Special Needs section. Handouts are provided for information, making simple assistive technology devices, and lessons.
