The revisions establish three methods for studying school attendance areas. 1. The Board of Trustees can request a presentation regarding a possible change to an attendance area. This request must be approved by a majority of the Board members. 2. The Administration can recommend to the Board changes in an attendance area for a specific geographic area to address local concerns such as overcrowding in a school. 3. The Student Assignment Advisory Committee can be organized to address District-wide concerns affecting multiple schools. The revisions remove the date that the SAAC must present its recommendation to the Superintendent and also changes the term for SAAC members.
