The spirit of Summit Drive is characterized by its belief that "every student is a star". The teachers are highly motivated professionals with strong academic backgrounds. 75 percent of the faculty have earned master's degrees and/or National Board certification. By combining traditional and modern methods of teaching, the Summit Drive teaching team offers a well-rounded educational environment for all students. A wide variety of instructional techniques are used to make learning a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Active parent volunteer groups and business partners support the instructional program and school facilities. The Parent Teacher Association has received district and state recognition for its outstanding service to children.
