Staff Trading Cards

The Stone Publishing Company, Mrs. Slate's Friday club, is the source for staff trading cards.  Since the Fall of 2002, each semester the fourth and fifth graders choose 10 staff members to feature on cards.  They interview the subjects, write the stories, and make a commercial to show on Jumpstart News.   On the back of each card is a collection of short stories or little known information about the subject.  We recently began making trading cards of artists-in-residence also. 

Cards may be purchased from Mrs. Slate at any time.  Note:  Cards are sold prepackaged only and cannot be ordered individually, or in specific combinations.

Tip for collectors:  Buy 2 five-packs of each semester's cards.  Trade as many duplicate cards as you can with your friends.  If you are still missing cards from the set, buy 2-packs (both cards are visible so you can choose only what you need) to fill out your collection.  You can keep any remaining duplicates to trade later.
