Grading Scale for Basic Courses,
Grades 2 and up
The School District of Greenville
County changed its course grading scale effective school year
(2000-01) to comply with new statewide requirements.
Elementary school students will receive
a letter grade (A,B,C,D, or U) for each subject based on the
new grading scale. Middle and high school students will receive
a numeric grade.
The new grading scale will provide consistency
across South Carolina. This is especially important for determining
high school students' eligibility (based on grade point ratio)
for college and for scholarships, including a state LIFE scholarship.
If you have questions about the new grading
scale, contact the school guidance office at 241-3259.
