The Dr. Seuss Rap
by Howard Hudson

Well there once was a man, his name was Dr. Seuss
He was a fhymin' genius when they turned him loose
His was Theodor but they called him Ted
You would not believe the words that came right out of his head
How many books have YOU read by the man they called Ted?

.....Born in nineteen hundred and four, he grew up to be the man that all the children adore
He could write and he could animate and illustrate
He could fascinate, communicate and educate
He sold millions of books and he achieved great fame
But - Theodor Geisel was the man's real name
His MIDDLE name was Seuss and he wasn't a doctor
He was the very best kid's - book concocter
-Yes - the man was a genius indeed
He took Cat in the Hat and taught us all how to read
Horton Hatches the Egg and Horton Hears a Who
And Green Eggs and Ham and If I Ran the Zoo

If there are many books that you can say you have read
One day you might be famous like the man they called Ted
Keep reading and feeding your brain the right juice
Because inside of you now is a young Dr. Seuss!!
