My Little House
by Alaina Riordan
My favorite place
is at a flower shop.
It has no broom.
It has no mop.
It is a little
house fit for a gnome.
But when I am in
it, it feels like home.
I sniff its
beautiful fresh air.
But there is one
thing that is not fair.
When children come
in to play
They put sand in it
and go away.
And when I go in
and clean it up.
I think of living
here with a little pup.
While I'm shaking
out the rug
I think of the sand
children have dug.
So I get up from my
seat and go to the garden that is not quite neat.
And what do I hear
a knock on my door.
I open it
my sister says we
can play no more.
So I get in the
car.
I say good-bye and
go far....
My favorite place
is at a flower shop.
It has no broom, it
has no mop.
But it is a home
for me.

The Beach
by
Caitlin Champlin
The beach is so hot
and so cool,
And I love the
little tide pool.
Lullaby waves
whoosh and rock me to sleep;
How nice is the
ocean, how deep.
Lovely sand always
has beautiful shells;
They can chime and
sound like bells.
When I leave the
beach I feel sad,
But every time I
visit I feel glad.
Because the sun and
I are such good friends;
We stay together
until the day ends.

My Night Under the Moon
by
Sophie Friis
At night I see the
silver moon
singing with rivers
and small waterfalls.
As I watch, I feel
blankets and coats
being drawn over
me.
When the music is
over
we eat s'mores.
As we eat, I smell
smoke from the fire
and hear it
crackle.
As I walk back to
the tent I hear leaves
crunching under my
feet.
As I lay in the
tent I hear crickets
chirping me to
sleep.

In My Mind's Eye.....
by
Parker Thompson
My inner vision
takes flight
The plane takes off
I see the ground
below getting
smaller and smaller
I'm soaring to a
new place
To a place
different than what I know
From this place I
don't want to leave
And I don't have to
Because this is my
mind's eye
I can do anything
and everything I want
