Our School
| At Southside High School we continue to strive
towards excellence. During the 2005-2006 school
term, Newsweek identified Southside as 36th of the top
100 schools that provide opportunities for students to
take AP and IB exams. The only student in the
district to score a perfect score on the ACT is a June
graduate from Southside. Innovision Technology
recognized our robotics team during the fall of 2005.
Southside continued to be recognized throughout the
district, state and nation for the achievement of
foreign language and forensics students. The
Southside Air Force JROTC Unit has been recognized as
one of the top 10% in the nation. We continue to
give attention to students who have academic challenges.
In the spring of 2006, GE again granted the school
$300,000 to continue efforts that will encourage more
students to be college bound. The funds will be
used over the next two years to assist students who
struggle through the tranition from middle school to
high school and to help offer programs to enhance
opportunities for students who might otherwise not have
considered four-year post secondary. Click here to
