Greensteps Project

Third Graders created crafts from recycled materials. The crafts were sold and the money raised was used to purchase plants for classrooms.  The plants were beautiful and helped improve air quality.

Students at Sara Collins are making recycling a priority!  Every class, as well as the Office, Library and Cafeteria, have recycle boxes.  Every week the third graders take up the recycled material, and the fifth graders wheel it out to the curb for pickup! 

The third graders are educating the other classes as to the importance of recycling.  The lunchroom is getting involved too!  They have containers for their steel cans and soon there will be a special can for plastic lunch drink and water bottles. 
 

Some classes are composting, then using the compost in their school gardens.
