ANNOUNCEMENTS

Census 2010 – It is VERY important that Greenville County citizens be counted in the 2010 Census. Please use the linked information  (English, Spanish Version)    Why important?  South Carolina was 49th of 50 states in the Census response rate, resulting in our state (and School Districts) not receiving millions of dollars in federal funding.  The Census is used in various ways, including:

  • Helping determine how more than $400 billion per year in federal funding is distributed to state, local and tribal governments.

  • Guiding local planning decisions, including where to provide additional services, build new roads, job training centers, etc.

  • Reapportioning congressional seats and assuring proper district representation in all levels of government.

The PTSA invites your family or your business to take this opportunity to help support students’ academic needs at our school.  Read More

Jazz It Up/Warrior Dance Team: Placed 2nd at the Cheersport Nationals held in Atlanta, GA this past weekend.

Here's a recap of the JV State Tournament in Lexington, Sat. Feb. 7th:

110 lbs. Middle School division - Michael Weber out-classed his first two opponents 17- 1 and 9-0 before losing a very tough fought 4-3 match in the semi finals. Michael finished 2-2 and 4th place overall.

285 lbs. JV division - Cody Armstrong went 1-2 with a 49 second pin in the second round consolation bracket

215 lbs. JV division - Taylor Catalano won his first match, 3-2 and in his second match threw his opponent in a headlock with 15 seconds to go scoring 5 points to win 5-4  and move on to the finals. Taylor finished as State Runner up!

The JV team scored 18 points placing 18th out of the 42 teams represented.

I was pleased with the way everyone wrestled. To go to a State tournament and get a win, or out-class competition, or get to a State Final is a significant achievement. It's something to build on for the future.

Congratulations guys!
