The Official Website of the Riverside High School (Greer, SC) Chapter of Key Club International

Riverside High School Key Club Key Club is an International organization that was begun in 1946. It is sponsored by the Kiwanis club. Key Club is a service organization of students who want to improve their community. As a group, we can achieve what we cannot do alone.

Objects of Key Club International

To develop initiative and leadership
To provide experience in living and working together.
To serve the school and community.
To cooperate with the school principal
To prepare for useful citizenship.
To accept and promote the following ideals:
- To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and application of higher standards in scholarship, sportsmanship, and social contacts.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unselfish service, and to build better communities.
- To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which will make possible the increase of righteousness justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Key Club Requirements:

All Key Club Members are expected to attend every monthly meeting. 40 service hours will need to be completed by the end of the second semester; 15 services hours are required for the first semester; if those first ten hours are not completed by the end of the first semester, then the member will be removed from the club.

Monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month in the library at 7:45 AM and 3:50 PM. To reduce distractions and to insure that those who are counted present for a meeting are are actually getting all of the information presented there, members who are more than 5 minutes late will not be admitted to the meeting. The meetings are vital to club members because projects are introduced and questions about them can be asked, information is passed out, donations are taken up, and upcoming events are announced.
