Riverside High School Announcements and News

On Saturday April 21, 2012, the executive committee of 2012-2013 got together to get to know each other and plan for the upcoming year. This committee includes student body officers, class officers, and Central Spirit Committee officers. The group played some games to break the ice and then jumped right into planning. From spirit week to the District 5 Rally, Riverside’s future executive committee had many great ideas to bring to the table. Mrs. Lola Richbourg, the Executive Director of the South Carolina Association of Student Councils, came to Riverside and provided both words of wisdom on leadership and several great leadership workshops. Afterwards, Exec had even more fun with a friendly game of capture the flag to end a fun, productive day.

SALT - Riverside's first Student Athlete Leadership Team has teamed up with Walmart to give Riverside athletes an opportunity to mentor underclassmen and learn about their own individual leadership skills during our 8 week workshop. Congrats SALT members for completing your training.

Do you have a CHANGE OF ADDRESS?

Parents - if you have moved and have not turned in 2 new proofs of residence to the School Counseling Office, your address has not been changed in our data base; therefore, your child may not receive their final report card and their schedule for the new school year at orientation. In order for your child to have a smooth start to the new school year in August, please take the time to bring in 2 proofs of residence from the following list.

Current electric and/or gas bill displaying service address and a billing date within the past 30 days (you can bring in 2 utility bills)
Closing statement or current mortage statement for primary residence showing property address (not mailing address)
Current signed lease agreement with name and phone of landlord
Most recent state or federal income tax return
Current paid tax receipt on real estate owned by parent/guardian
Propety tax form requesting homestead exemption
Current statement from DSS or other government agency which proves residency of the parent/guardian
Current paycheck stub with address of residence

Medication Reminder for End of School Year:
All student medications or supplies currently stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent/guardian before noon on Thursday, June 6^th. The last full day of attendance for students is Monday, June 3^rd. Medication may be picked up anytime between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the health room. For safety reasons, a parent/guardian must pick up medications and cannot be sent home with student. If medications/ supplies are not picked up by noon on June 6^th, they will be destroyed per school district policy.

ACE Awards
Riverside High School is proud to announce the 2013 ACE (Advocates for Character and Education) Award winners: Gina Skrobola and Giandre Acosta. Congratulations to these students for being nominated by the school community for outstanding character and commitment to education.These students will be recognized at the ACE Award Ceremony held at the Kroc Center in downtown Greenville in May.

Alive at 25 Driving Program
Registration for the South Carolina Alive at 25 driving program is now open. Completion of this program is required in order to purchasing a parking pass for the 2012-2013 school year. No parking passes will be sold to students without a valid certificate of completion. If a student completed the Alive at 25 course last year, they do not have to retake the course but should bring their completed certificate to orientation.
