OAKVIEW PARENT TEACHER
ASSOCIATION INFORMATION |
| Oakview has
established a Parent Teacher Association to provide vital financial and
personal support to the total school program. All persons who are
interested in the welfare of Oakview Elementary and its students are invited
to join the PTA and become actively involved in supporting our PTA
activities. PTA membership dues are $5.00 per person, and membership cards
are issued. Parents, other family members and friends are urged to join.
PTA meetings are held four times a year. Programs are presented on topics
of interest and concern to parents. |

PTA Volunteer Program
A valuable “special
resource” for the school is the volunteer, who supplements and complements the
work of the classroom teacher. A volunteer is an extra pair of hands; a measure
of personal warmth; a bridge between the school and community. The different
areas of volunteer work are library aides, SEEDS, room mothers, office aides,
teacher’s aides, tutors, etc. Please let our PTA Volunteer Coordinator know the
areas in which you would be interested in volunteering. |

New Volunteer
Guidelines
Greenville County Schools (GCS) is implementing new Volunteer
Guidelines to further enhance school safety by requiring volunteers
to be cleared through a background check each school year. The GCS
Volunteer Application Process requires NO action by
parents/guardians (two primary contacts on school list). The
process is automatic unless the parent/guardian opts out of
volunteer application eligibility by writing or e-mailing the
principal. Others (non-parents/non-guardians) interested in
volunteering must complete a written application. Once
approved through the GCS Volunteer Application Process, a person is
eligible to volunteer through the school, PTA, and other school
organizations. The GCS Volunteer Application Process is in addition
to any volunteer procedures used by schools, PTA, and other school
organizations. Click here for the application |

PTA At-Home and Off-Campus Volunteer Hours
Please do not forget to document the hours you spend at home or off-campus doing volunteer work for Oakview. Click here for a Home and Off-Campus Volunteer Form you can use to record your hours. These hours can include making schedules, baking and shopping for treats for your classroom, making phone calls or anything you do at home or off-campus for the school. We would like to submit a report to the PTA district accurately portraying the incredible dedication of our Oakview Volunteers. You can simply list the months and total hours. You can also e-mail your hours to our Volunteer Co-chair. Thank you for your continued support of Oakview Elementary! |
