Current and upcoming events can be found on the school calendar. |
KINDERGARTEN ENTRANCE: The Kindergarten Entrance is opened at 7:30 each morning to receive students. The doors at this entrance are kept locked until the Safety Patrols report for duty at 7:30. For safety purposes, only students are allowed to enter these doors in the mornings. Parents and visitors are asked to sign in the front office any time they are on campus. (A safety patrol will be happy to help your child take snacks, birthday treats, projects, etc. to the classroom.) |
REMINDERS |
| TRANSPORTATION CHANGES: Parents, please remember that any transportation changes need to be sent in writing with your child to school. In case of emergency, you may call the front office to report the changes. |
PLEASE SIGN IN: Parents are reminded to always sign in at the front office before entering school. Signing in allows us to keep all students, teachers, staff and visitors safe.
ITEMS
WE RECYCLE - Cell, phones, ink jet printer cartridges, DVD movies and
videogames, portable DVD players, laptop computers, MP3 players, X-boxes, Sony
Playstations, Wii, digital cameras and digital video cameras (DVRs), digital
pictures frames, portable navigation and GPS devices (Garmin, Magellan,
Tom-Tom).
WALKING TO SCHOOL: Parents and visitors are reminded to use the crosswalk
when arriving at the main entrance. In addition, entry into the
kindergarten wing during arrival/dismissal is not permitted. All visitors
must come to the main entrance, sign in, and wear a nametags while on campus.
Thank you for your effort in maintaining a safe environment for our students
CAR RIDER REMINDER: Kindergarten,
first grade and second grade students should be dropped off and picked
up at the kindergarten entrance. Only 3rd, 4th or 5th grade students
and their younger siblings may be dropped off and/or picked up in the main entrance. This policy is especially important in the mornings as
we try to maintain a balance in the carpool lines so that all students
are in their classrooms at 8:00. Please consider these suggestions for
ensuring a safe and efficient car drop-off for all students: carpooling,
arriving at school before 7:45, and following all traffic signs. Thank
you for your continued cooperation and support.
ATTENTION: School begins
promptly at 8:00 am. Students must be in their classroom in their seats by
8:00. Students and their parent who come in late must stop by the office to be
recorded present and to receive a pass to class. The first fifteen minutes of
the day are very important. This is the time that the teachers explain much of
the work for the morning. This makes it imperative that you make every effort
to have your child at school on time.
PLEASE REMEMBER…No
early dismissals after 2:00.
PLEASE REMEMBER…Every effort
is made not to interrupt classes and instructional time. After 8:00 a.m., all
forgotten items, except eyeglasses, splints, etc., will be put in the teacher’s
box (i.e., homework, projects, clothing, snacks, etc.). Lunches will be placed
in the cafeteria for students to pick up.
EATING LUNCH AT OAKVIEW? All
adults planning to eat lunch need to let their child preorder for them or call
the Cafeteria at 355-7108 by 9 a.m. to order.
CHANGES OF TRANSPORTATION need to be made in writing to your child’s teacher. Phone calls to the front
office for changes of transportation should be in cases of emergency only.
LOST AND FOUND: ALL lost and found items are donated to charity the last
Friday of each month. Please make sure your
child's coat has his/her name on the tag. Also
remind your child to check lost and found for missing
items.
SCHOOL STORE: The School Store is open from 7:25-7:55 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the school year. |
| Information concerning community organizations and other opportunities for parents and students is available in the brochure rack in the school lobby. All flyers in this rack must comply with Greenville County Schools "Distribution of Flyers" policy. |
