OAKVIEW'S EARTH SAVERS CLUB WINS AIR QUALITY GRANT
Oakview's Earth Savers Club is the recipient of a $400 grant for their "Operation Oxygen" project. With a goal of creating cleaner air in the classrooms, club members researched how plants can improve indoor air quality. Funds from the grant will go towards purchasing a lucky bamboo or a spider plant for each classroom. Thanks to Clean Air Upstate for awarding Oakview this grant and the generosity of the Hollingsworth Funds for providing the funds. Our Operation Oxygen program is a component of Oakview's Breathe Better Air program. We work to promote cleaner air outside by asking car and bus drivers to turn off their engines when they are waiting in line for 30 seconds or longer.

PALMETTO GOLD Palmetto GoldAWARD

This continues our “perfect score” of Palmetto Gold Awards since the inception of the program over 10 years ago. Oakview Elementary School is also recognized with a Palmetto Gold Award for Closing the Achievement Gap among historically underachieving student groups. This second Gold Award reflects the academic performance of various “subgroups” of students enrolled at the school and demonstrates our commitment to high achievement for ALL students! Thank you for the role you play in the academic success of our students as Oakview receives another Palmetto Gold Award!
