Beta Club News

November 16, 2010

November 16th's Beta Club meeting was a flurry of activity. President Arden Gillcrest presented the afternoon's agenda to club members. Mrs. Barber, guidance counselor for Northwest Middle School, outlined an opportunity to help fellow students have a Merry Christmas. Beta Club members were able to acquire a list of sizes and items to buy for needy families so they could purchase and wrap appropriate gifts. Participating is this activity will earn members community service hours. After showing copies of their report cards to prove their continued eligibility for membership, students put their creative powers to work, making "Pilgrim hats" to be filled with hard candy. These tray favors will be delivered to a local nursing home in time for Thanksgiving. Of course, there were snacks at the meeting and time for friendly banter. It's always fun to work with friends while helping others.
