Trippin' Up is a powerful performance performed by area teen actors and directed by Traysie Amick, SCCT's Education Coordinator.  This production demonstrates both the alluring and compromising effects that drugs and alcohol can have on a young person's life.  It has received overwhelmingly strong feedback from students in the schools it has served.  The play generates discussion and reflection about personal stances on substance abuse.

Eighth grade students attended the play in an assembly Tuesday. On Thursday, it will be followed by an in-class facilitation session where trained actor/facilitators will engage the students in a more intimate setting to delve into the ideas raised in the show. Facilitators provide factual information, dispel myths, and explore alternatives to substance use through group activities and open discussions. This format has proved to be thought-provoking, stimulating, and memorable.
