Student Led Conferences
On Thursday, October 30, 2014, Northwest is asking all parents to come to school between 4:15-7:30 and attend a student led conference. This is a great opportunity to hear first hand what is happening in your child's classes. This is a drop in so no appointment time is needed at the end of your conference you will receive your child's report card. Remember to bring your child with you and report directly to their homeroom class.
Gun Violence Program
NWMS joined the United States Attorney's Office and schools across South Carolina in observing the National Day of Concern about Young People and Gun Violence. The students recited and signed the pledge about school gun violence and choices. Our guest speakers were William J. Watkins, Jr. (Bill) Assistant United States Attorney and Special Agent Everette Turner, United States Secret Service.
The ACE award nominations will be open from October 20th-January 20th. This award is for students from 8-12th grades. Click here for more information.
Principal for a Day
Northwest was excited to have Elizabeth Keith, Senior Vice President- Mission at St Francis Health care Systems with us last week serving as Principal for the Day. Ms. Keith had the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet students, and see all of the great things happening at Northwest!
This year at Northwest we will begin having monthly class rotations. Click here for a letter from Dr. McDonald explaining what class rotation is and how we believe it is going to benefit all of our students.
