Is your 8th grader interested in traveling to Washington, D.C.? Join us for an informational Zoom meeting on Thursday, November 5, at 5:30 p.m. to learn more about the upcoming 8th Grade trip scheduled for April 6–9, 2027.
Parents and students will have the opportunity to learn more about the trip and ask questions.

8th Grade Families: Fine Arts Center Visual Art Audition Workshop - November 21, 2026
The Fine Arts Center Visual Arts Audition Workshop will take place on November 21, 2026, and is designed for students who want to learn more about our program and prepare for the audition process. During the workshop, students will learn about the Visual Arts audition process and timeline, what our faculty looks for in prospective students, and how to develop and present a strong portfolio. This is a great opportunity for students to ask questions and better understand what it takes to audition for the Fine Arts Center.

Community Book Club
We are offering a Community Book Club to all Northwood students and their parent/trusted adult!
Participants will read Popcorn by Rob Harrell and attend an in-person book club on Mon, November 16, from 5:00-6:00 pm in the school library. Students who participate will receive a FREE dress down day and also be entered to win a $20 Amazon gift card for bringing an adult who read the book with them!

Take Two Request Forms
This form is intended to allow parents and students to request a Take Two on any MAJOR assignments.
Please fill in all questions on the form. Once received, your teacher will contact the student regarding the required re-learning opportunity and a Take Two date.
Students may request a retake, redo, or revision of an eligible major assessment.
To qualify, the student must:
-Submit the school’s Retake/Redo Request Form within five school days of the grade being posted.
-Have submitted all minor assignments associated with the instructional unit.
-Complete re-teach.
-Coordinate the reassessment with the teacher during an agreed-upon intervention time.

Please log into your Parent Backpack account and double-check the contacts you have listed for your student. Educational Decision Makers can add, remove, or edit contacts in Backpack. As a reminder, Parent Backpack allows parents/guardians to monitor their children’s grades, assignments, and attendance, and gives parents/guardians access to update the list of individuals who can pick up their student from school.
