Extended Day Program

EDPAre you interested in having your student attend our Extended Day Program?  We have limited availability!  Our "EDP" runs from 3:30-6:00 pm on regular school days, and students are provided with snacks, homework supervision, recreation, computer time, and special activities.  We offer both full time (3+ days per week) and part time (1-2 days per week) options.

PSAT/NMSQT Opportunity

PSAT/NMSQT Registration

Eighth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT in October 2026, for the purpose of qualifying as a South Carolina Junior Scholar. Students may be required to pay a fee (established by College Board) to participate. 

More details about testing will be shared the first week of school in August. Students will sign up to participate from August 11-24, 2026.

Regarding accommodations:  If students would like to participate, please contact your student’s Case Manager, 504 Coordinator, and/or the STC to discuss accommodations.


Tdap Requirement for Rising 7th Graders

Tdap RequirementSouth Carolina law requires that all students entering the 7th grade receive one dose of Tdap vaccine. Any student entering the 7th grade who has not received the Tdap vaccine by the first day of school (Tues, August 11, 2026) will not be allowed to attend school until they have received the vaccine AND provided an updated "SC Certificate of Immunization."

If you have questions about your student's immunization status, please call the Northwood Front Office @ 864-355-7000 and ask to speak with our Nurse.

Note: The Greenville Public Health Department is hosting vaccination clinics for rising 7th graders on July 23 & 30 and August 6 & 10 (prior to the first day of school), at the Greenville County Health Department. The clinic is by appointment only - please call 1.855.472.3432

Job FairWe're hiring great people for positions such as bus drivers, bus aides, custodians, food services, and Special Education classroom aides!  Greenville County Schools will host an in-person Job Fair on Tues, July 14, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Reedy Laurel Elementary (61 Isbell Ln, Greenville, SC) AND on Tues, July 28, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the CTE Innovation Center (402 Roper Mountain Rd, Greenville, SC). It’s a great time to join Greenville County Schools!

Please note that families who requested bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year will be contacted by the GCS Transportation Department between July 27 - August 10.  The Transportation Department will call families personally during this two week window prior to school beginning to notify them of bus route and timing details for their student.

Northwood Middle School offers the following sports to 7th & 8th grade students:  Girls' Volleyball (fall), Girls' & Boys' Basketball (winter), Girls' & Boys' Soccer (spring), Softball (spring), and Baseball (spring).  If your student is interested in any sport NOT offered by Northwood, please contact the high school you are zoned for to inquire as to eligibility.

In addition, Greenville County Schools’ Food and Nutrition Services will participate in the Seamless Summer Food Service Program. Nutritionally balanced meals will be provided to all children during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available. All children 18 years old and younger are eligible for meals at no charge. All meals must be consumed on-site, except at designated curbside pickup locations.

6th Grade Boot Camp & Meet the Teacher

Attention rising 6th grade parents and students! 

We invite all rising 6th grade students to attend our 6th Grade Boot Camp on Thurs, August 6 from 2:00-5:00pm. Students will spend time with their homeroom class learning all about Northwood – how to open lockers, asking questions, and getting familiar with the school.

Summer Reading Challenge

BooksConquer the summer ... one book at a time!  Our school-wide summer reading challenge will kick off on May 23, 2026 and run through August 28, 2026.  Knights who complete the summer reading quest will be rewarded with an ice cream sundae party in the fall!

Final Report Cards

Report CardsNorthwood will not mail paper copies of report cards to students at the end of the 2025–26 school year. Parents and students can view all final grades by logging into their Backpack account. If parents would like a hard copy of their student’s report card, please complete the Google Form below. Requested report cards will be mailed home on Wed, May 27, 2026.

Educational Decision Makers can add, remove, or edit contacts in Backpack.  As a reminder, Parent Backpack allows parents/guardians to monitor their children’s grades, assignments, and attendance, and gives parents/guardians access to update the list of individuals who can pick up their student from school.
