Flu |
|
We are working with DHEC to help control the spread of the flu in our school. If your child has symptoms that may be the flu which can include: fever, cough sore throat, vomiting you must keep your child home until his/her temperature has been normal for at least 24 hours without medications to keep the fever down. Exclusion from school is required until the student’s temperature is less than 100 for 24 hours without medication (Tylenol or Ibuprofen).
Please remember that the District Policy on medication requires parents/guardians to bring all medications to the health room and complete a consent form before medication can be dispensed. A note from home is not permission to administer. This includes cough drops.
As parents we encourage each of you to take the following steps to protect yourselves and your children from any strain of flu:
If your child complains that he doesn’t feel well, please check his temperature before sending him to school. Do not send your child to school if he has a fever. If your child starts to have symptoms of the flu, call your healthcare provider or your local health department for guidance. Make sure that your child’s school has your current telephone numbers.
Thanks for your attention in helping to keep our schools healthy and safe.
