Car Line Update 2025-2026 School Year - PLEASE READ!
MORNING CAR RIDER ARRIVAL
When school starts back on Monday, August 11, if your child is a morning car rider, please be advised we have changed the drop off location for K4-1st Grade students. ALL morning car riders in K4 - 5th Grade, EXCEPT Ms. Hammond's students, will be dropped off in our main car rider line.
- The Main Car line loops around the staff parking lot next to the gym. Please pull forward all the way to the end of the sidewalk in front of the playground/gym (see graphic). Students will enter the building through the doors by the gym on the Related Arts hallway.
- Car Riders arriving after 7:45 am will need to be walked into the Front Office by a parent.
- Breakfast will be served from 7:00-7:35 am. To eat breakfast or lunch with your child, parents must check in via the front office to obtain a visitor’s pass. The Front Office opens at 7:15 am.
- Students in Ms. Hammond’s class that will arrive via car will utilize the Back Carline from 7:30-7:45 am. The Back Car line is located toward the back of our school. When driving on campus, you will follow the road around the playground to the back and there is an awning next to the K5 playground for car line.
- Car riders arriving before 7:45 am should NEVER be dropped off at the Front Office, located at the front of the school. Only Walkers or tardy students being checked in by their parents should enter the school through the Front Office.
AFTERNOON CAR RIDER DISMISSAL
Afternoon Dismissal starts at 2:15 pm and ends at 2:30 pm.
- 2nd-5th Grade Students will be picked up from the Main Car Line from 2:15-2:30 pm.
- K4-1st Grade students and their older siblings will be picked up in the Back Car Line from 2:15-2:30 pm.
- Both Car Lines will close at 2:30 pm. Any students remaining after 2:30 pm will need to be picked up in the Front Office by a parent. This is a change from last year.

Memo: Water Bottle Policy
- To help keep our classrooms, technology, and personal items safe and dry, only leak-proof water bottles will be allowed at school. Water bottles must have a secure, sealed lid and should not spill when tipped over. If the water bottle has a straw, the straw must be fully covered or built-in with a secure closure to prevent leaks. Thank you for your support in keeping our learning environment clean and safe!
- To help minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a smooth learning environment, any water bottles delivered or brought to the front office during the school day will be placed in the teacher’s mailbox and distributed by the end of the day.
- We kindly ask that students bring their water bottles with them in the morning. All classrooms, cafeteria, hallways, and playgrounds have water fountains available to students throughout the school day.
Memo: Lunch Visitor Policy
Window for Lunch Visitors for the 2025-2026 School Year: 9/2/25 – 4/24/26
- To help our teachers establish routines and procedures with students, visitors will not be allowed to eat lunch with students until September 2, 2025. This initial three-week window allows for a smooth transition for all students. Due to state testing and end-of-year activities, the last day visitors may eat lunch with students is April 24, 2026.
Visitors are welcome to have lunch with students during designated lunch times, following these guidelines:
- All visitors must sign in at the front office upon arrival and wear a visitor badge at all times while on campus.
- No more than two visitors per visit will be allowed.
- Individuals not listed on the student’s dismissal card will not be allowed to eat lunch with your child. Administration or the front office will contact you for approval if needed.
- Visitors will be seated in the designated visitor area to maintain a safe and orderly environment in the cafeteria. Other students will not be allowed to join you during lunch.
- Birthday parties are not permitted during lunch, and balloons, flowers, or other party supplies will not be allowed beyond the front office. Store-bought cupcakes or small treats are allowed if provided for every student in the class.
- Visitors are asked to limit their visits to no more than one lunch per week per student
- Visitors may sit with their student at a separate seating table, but other students may not join them.

Paint Mt. Mitchell
Painting Mount Mitchell is a fun way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion for your student at Mitchell Road Elementary. For $10.00, you can reserve the rock from 4pm on the day prior to when you sign up, until 4pm the day of.
*Reservations and payment are required - PLEASE double check the date you selected at check out.
*Dates are available on a first come, first served basis and rain or shine. No businesses, please.
*You may paint the rock starting at 4pm the day before your reservation, so it will be ready for the morning carpool line of your reserved date. For example, if your child's birthday is April 15th, reserve April 15th. You may begin painting the rock on April 14th at 4pm in order for it to be ready for morning carpool on the reserved date.
*Payment, via debit or credit card, is required at the time you make the reservation on the PTA store page. No other forms of payment will be accepted. Unpaid reservations will be deleted.
*The PTA has the authority to remove/repaint any language or image that is deemed inappropriate. Please do not paint the ground or any of the area around the rock. An adult MUST be present when painting the rock.
*There are NO refunds. The school spirit rock is a PTA fundraiser. Funds are used to help pay for school programs and/or initiatives.
Painting Tips:
- Two to three cans of spray paint will cover the front of the rock.
- You can also roll on paint.
- For words/designs in multiple colors, use small sample jars of paint.
- Leftover house paint works too—do not use oil-based paint.
- Please bring your own paint and materials as we will not provide this for you.
