Because the world needs engineers and scientists, and this class is a means to get hands-on experience with basic physics, math, and engineering. With over 200 plus TV channels and Internet computer games, kids spend very little time building a tree house, tinkering with an engine, or putting together a model. Industrial Technology allows the students a chance to design and build an engineered device to solve a problem. Science and engineering can be fun, but the real payoff for an engineer is in the field where he/she can see their product work. I hope to inspire young people to study science, math and technology and develop into a career when enrolled in Industrial Technology Education.
