Each year, the ACE Awards (Advocates for Character and Education) honor one male and one female 12th grade student in each Greenville County High School who are considered true â€œunsung heroesâ€ in their schools. This award was created to recognize students who often go unnoticed for one reason or another, but have accomplished great things in their community, church or school. These students will be recognized at the ACE Awards ceremony for outstanding character and academic effort. Nominations are now being accepted for seniors at Mauldin High School. Mauldin's award-winning robotics team invites students who are interested in joining for the 2014 season to a meet and greet at 7pm on Monday Dec 9. Join veteran team members in room E112 to tour the build spaces, run a robot, and learn details about the 2014 season which begins in early January. Children, teenagers and parents are invited to hear testimonials from current inmates from the SC Department of Corrections about the decisions they made which led them to prison, and more importantly how those decisions could have been avoided. This powerful statewide program reinforces values such as responsibility, making good decisions, how to handle adversity, obeying the law, and many more.
