What are the GED tests?

The General Educational Development tests, better known as the GED, measure the general knowledge and thinking skills that it takes to earn a high school diploma.

Why should I take the GED test?

Most employers and colleges require a diploma or its equivalent for employment, promotion, or admission.

Who gives the GED test?

The GED tests are given the Greenville GED Testing Center, located at Lifelong Learning's main campus at Sullivan Center, 206 Wilkins Street, Greenville, SC 29605.

Who can take the GED tests?

Anyone who is at least 17 years of age, not enrolled in school, and who does not already have a high school diploma from  an accredited school.

What will I get if I pass the GED tests?

The South Carolina Department of Education issues a South Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma to those who successfully pass all GED tests with an average score of 450, for a total score of 2250 and a minimum score of 410 on each of the tests.

Why earn a GED or a high school diploma?

  1. Earn more money

                  Average is $9,700 more per year compared to people without a high school diploma.        
            Estimated $390,000 over a lifetime.

    2.   Required to enter technical school, college, or university.

How long will it take me to get my GED?

After you have taken your assessment test, then our advisors will be able to map out an individual plan for you, and predict how long that it will take.

How long will it take for my test results to get back?

It usually takes at least 1 to 2  weeks at the present time.
