League's School Report Card

SC Report Card Facts

Understanding Report Card Calculations

Purposes of the SC Report Card:

Inform about the school's performance.

Assist in addressing the strengths and weaknesses within the school.

Recognize schools with high performance and improvement.

Evaluate and focus resources on schools with low performance.

Rating Terms

· Excellent
· Good
· Average
· Below Average
· Unsatisfactory

Explanations of Ratings

Absolute Rating - The academic achievement of students for that year measured against the target level (2010 goal) of performance.

Improvement Rating - The progress of achievement scores for the same students from one year to the next (longitudinally matched).

Ratings System Rigor - Score ranges that determine a school's performance rating remain the same for the first three years beginning in 2001. After the third year, the score ranges increase each year through 2010.
