NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SPEARHEADS CAMPAIGN TO MOVE PATRIOT SIGN FROM THE OLD MANN TO THE NEW MANN SCHOOL In the fall of 2010, Morgan Broker and Taylor Anderson, two NHS senior members, suggested that for this school year the organization focus on moving the Patriot sign from old Mann High to the new Mann. The officers, members, and advisers readily agreed that this project would be the ideal service project for the year. Little did anyone realize the weight of the granite sign or all the problems associated with moving such a heavy object. Now, however, after numerous bake sales, calendar sales and the support of Mann's PTSA, the money necessary to move the sign has been raised. Mann's PTSA, led by Diane Jeter, pledged to help NHS get the necessary funds for the project. In fact, Mrs. Jeter, a member of the class of 1984 which established the sign at the old school, endorsed the project wholeheartedly. Next week, the week of May 23- 27, the sign should be moved and placed at the entrance of the student parking lot. Please watch for the sign's arrival. Also, if anyone is interested in contributing to the landscaping around the sign or to the cleaning of it, please call or email Sara Lochridge at Mann.
Meets twice a month to promote academic excellence and community service. Yearly events include tutoring, "Fall for Greenville," "Walk and Roll," and several other projects. MEMBERSHIP SELECTION a.
