The Mannuscript staff pulled in an All-State rating (highest) and the Palmetto Award for best newspaper in its class for the fourth straight year at the S.C. Scholastic Press Association Spring conference. This year was particularly special for the students as we had to move up into the larger, more difficult class due to Mann's population increase, forcing us to compete against the likes of Wando, Byrnes, Spartanburg, and Dorman. However, the students still shined despite the challenge.
Please join us in congratulating the award winning JL Mann Southern Senstatios Show Choir on a super performance in Orlando, Florida. They recieved a first place trophy in Division 3 and a SUPERIOR rating plaque. They worked really hard and it truly paid off.

and socks. Parents, Faculty, Staff, and Students can bring any donations
(monetary or tangible) to Senora Chandler's room 711. On Thursday February
11th and Friday February 26th the SCC students will be hosting a Food Tasting
during all three lunch periods to raise funds as well - donate $1 and get a
sample of authentic foods from various Spanish-Speaking countries.
At the Metropolitan Art Council's annual meeting we received the Open Studio Award of $2,500.00. All the art teachers, the art club officers and Mr. Mayfield were present.

Adam, Paul and several outstanding football players have successfully moved the Art Club's Sculpture project to campus. It is sitting outside the Art Dept for all to see. We hope to develop a work schedule after school and on Sat mornings. There will be lots of grinding and welding to do. Everyone is invited to give it a try. We will let you know the work schedule once it's in place. Feel free to stop by and take a look!
