Junior Beta Club is a national organization that recognizes students who are of "worthy character, good mentality, creditable achievement, and commendable attitude."  The purpose of the Junior Beta Club is to encourage effort and reward merit and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship.   The HMS Junior Beta Club participates in the State Beta Club Convention held annually in Myrtle Beach each December.  The club also offers a number of service activities ranging from collecting tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville to collecting items for Shepherd's Gate women's shelter and United Ministries.

Requirements for Membership:

1. To be invited, a student must have a 95.0 GPA for two consecutive quarters.

2. Students be willing to perform service tasks both in school and out of school.
