Information
Hillcrest Middle School is a suburban public middle school. The school was
opened in 1964 as a Junior High School, and has been accredited since 1965. The facility
was built to accommodate fewer than 800 students. Rapid overcrowding led to the building
of another wing within 3 years.
In 1970-71, Hillcrest became a Middle School. Peak enrollment of around 1400 occurred
during the 1995-96 school year. Due to major renovations, during the 1999-2000 school year
the student population was downsized to 556 with a commensurate decrease in faculty .
Only four principals have served this school throughout the years.
