Challenge Program - Students qualify for this advanced Language
Arts class by standardized test scores, teacher recommendations,
and grades. They receive more in-depth, challenging instruction.
Self-Contained Learning Disabled Classes
- Students with
handicaps receive basic instruction, with special attention given
to their deficit area(s). They are mainstreamed for Physical
Education and Related Arts. Qualified students may take one or
more regular academic classes.
Self-Contained Emotionally Handicapped Classes
- Students with
handicaps in this area receive basic instruction under one teacher.
They are mainstreamed for Physical Education and Related Arts.
Resource Classes - Learning disabled or emotionally
handicapped students who can cope with regular classroom
instruction with supportive help will spend one or two hours each day with a
Special Education teacher working on individual needs.
Speech Therapy - A speech therapist comes to our school to
provide speech and language therapy to students who need this
service. Using diagnostic tools and tests, a file of relevant data
is developed to be used in placement and evaluations. |
